Stealth Home Opener

Currently, the BF is playing box lacrosse (indoor) for the San Jose Stealth, and he plays outdoor for the San Francisco Dragons in the spring/summer. I'm not going to say much about tonight's home opener because it ended up in an "L," and the BF got hurt...bummer and he has to miss his next game. What I will say is that is that box lax is SO fun to watch, and I hope the Stealth finally begin amassing the following they deserve. I mean, they have three of arguably the best players in the entire league...yet they're lucky to get 4,000 fans. On the other hand, the Colorado team sells out the Pepsi Center every single game (18,000 fans, yo. I got popcorn and peanuts thrown at my head when I last rooted for the Stealth there...in a friendly way...kinda). What's the deal? Where did the Stealth go wrong? Maybe it was last year's Thigh, ahem, I mean, Spy Girls? They weren't exactly the most talented (or svelte) of cheerleaders. This year's group is WAY more...stereotypical (Cheerleader Barbies, really). Or was it the time they brought in a crew of hard-core rappers to rap about staying in school to fans consisting mainly of nine-year-old prep school kids (not sure they were aiming at the right audience, maaaaybe?)? Tonight's bobble-head, dancing, blow-up animals were a much better choice given the audience of girl scouts. Heck, they even made ME laugh out loud. Or maybe it's just that SJ is a quirky city in itself, which results in a lack of lax interest. Who knows? What I do know is the guys are great, and they deserve some fans...so I'm anointing myself a Thigh Girl, and I'll be cheering them on every night.

Late addition to the post: My pops sent me this neat article. Go NLL!
